JENNER HEADLANDS PRESERVE

The Jenner Headlands is an area of astounding natural beauty that engages the senses in an unfolding tapestry of rolling coastal hills, green-forested gulches and deep ocean blues. This incredible display of nature, formed of land and water, earth and sky, has a diverse and varied landscape that over the eons has developed a rich assemblage of plants, animals, and human history.

Gateway Project

The Gateway to Jenner Headlands project will provide access to over 12 miles of trails, through coastal grasslands and redwood forests, with incredible views of the Sonoma and Marin coastlines. Trails will include a route up to the top of Pole Mountain Preserve (owned by the Sonoma Land Trust) at 2,204 feet in elevation – the highest point on the Sonoma Coast!

The parking lot will be open daily free of charge, providing access to The Wildlands Conservancy's magnificent Jenner Headlands Preserve and beyond.

The Gateway Project includes the construction of a parking lot adjacent to Hwy 1, located just a few miles north of the town of Jenner. The parking lot will provide parking for 32 cars and two school buses. The Gateway will also provide handicapped accessible trails to a restroom and overlook area with spectacular views of the Russian River and Goat Rock. From the overlook, a trailhead will lead into the rolling coastal hills and redwood forests.
