TEMPORARY RANGER | EEL RIVER ESTUARY PRESERVE

FERNDALE, CALIFORNIA



THE POSITION

This temporary position is available from the months of September 2019 through January 2020. Primarily outdoor position working in all weather conditions requires regular and punctual attendance and weekend work. Weekly hours range from 24-32 per week. Performs land stewardship, maintenance, invasive species removal, water quality monitoring, and public contact. Maintains and improves structures, trails and picnic areas; maintains equipment, vehicles and water systems.

PART-TIME TRAILHEAD STEWARD | JENNER HEADLANDS PRESERVE

JENNER, CALIFORNIA



THE POSITION

The part-time Trailhead Steward serves as a visible presence at the Gateway to the Headlands trailhead. Visitors have hiking access to 14 miles of trails leading through a variety of habitats. The gateway steward primarily interacts with visitors and promotes access and safety awareness; assists with cleaning restrooms and keeping parking lot and trailhead litter free. The Trailhead Steward is responsible for closing the parking lot gates and restroom each scheduled shift. The ideal candidate will have a love for hiking, nature, and a desire to speak with visitors about The Wildlands Conservancy’s mission, and the Jenner Headlands Preserve. Position requires weekend and evening work, working approximately 20 hours per week.

OUTDOOR EDUCATION COORDINATOR | WIND WOLVES PRESERVE

THE POSITION

The Education Coordinator is responsible for coordinating efforts within the Preserves’ Education Department. Assists with planning and implementing education strategies while adhering to program guidelines. Develops, coordinates, and assists with educational and public programs; and other special events occurring on the preserve. The Education Coordinator is also responsible for community outreach in areas relating to The Wildlands Conservancy’s mission. Requires regular weekend work. The Education Coordinator reports directly to the Outdoor Education Manager.
