PROGRAM CALENDAR & REGISTRATION

PROGRAMS OFFERED

Astronomy Night
The San Bernardino Valley Amateur Astronomers visit the preserve with a variety of telescopes pointed at the night sky. You will have a change to take a closer look at planets, stars, nebulas, galaxies, and more!


Behold the Beauty - Art in Nature
Using the beauty of nature to inspire the artist in everyone, we start with an art lecture followed by a hands-on art demonstration tailored to the ability and experience of each participant. Different mediums and techniques used each month. This program is offered the third Saturday from April through November at 1:30 pm.


Fun Unplugged
An outdoor adventure exploring our trails while participating in hands-on learning activities focused on science, nature, cultural history, or merely making new friends and having dun in an "old-fashioned" unplugged way. Programs begin at 6:00 pm.


Kids for Kids Hike
A guided hike lead by our Junior Rangers for a kid's eye view of the preserve followed by a nature-inspired craft.


Lectures and Workshops
We host a diverse range of lectures and workshops hosted by guest speakers and/or preserve staff. Programs begin at 11:00 am unless specified below. Please click on the program dates for more details. Registration required.


Night Walks
Explore the preserve at Night! Join our naturalists on a themed walk and talk on the Preserve trails. Night Walks are held the third Saturday of the month April through September from 7 to 9 pm, and from 5 to 7 pm in October and November. Ages 8 and older. Registration required.


Step Outside and Read (S.O.A.R.)
A summer program featuring a craft, a nature activity, and story time featuring special guests from local libraries. Held every Thursday at 3:30 pm.


Wildflower Walks
Walk with Dr. Tim Krantz, Botanic Garden Director, through our Southern California Montane Botanic Garden to learn about the large variety of wildflowers found throughout the San Bernardino Mountains. Walks are offered at 10:00 am and 2:00 pm.


Volunteer Day
Group projects to contribute to the development and maintenance of the Preserve trail system. These projects vary monthly and are suitable for individuals, families, and established groups. Program will start at 10:00 am and for ages 8 and above.
